Who doesn’t like a good deal? Science says that finding a good deal is like getting a fresh boost of dopamine, as it makes you feel happier and smarter. This is one of the main reasons why so many people nowadays don’t buy retail and why deal hunting is so popular!
But when you’re a parent, deals and sales are a lot more than just the thrill of getting something at a better price. Discount codes and coupons become second nature when you have to pay your salary for a month on diapers!
The good news is that, due to online stores, you don’t have to cut out coupons from magazines anymore. You just apply the discount code to your shopping cart. But how do you know you’ve got the best deal?
With so many online stores and offers, the hunt for discounts can be a little crazy. To avoid getting caught in the fear of missing out (or FOMO), I will share some of the best ways to search for deals and sales online for products children may need.
Go to Specialized Sites
The easiest way to search for deals online is by visiting discount aggregators. These are sites specially created to find and list the newest deals from any category of products or services. They have specialized teams looking for coupon codes, discounts, offers, and sales all over the Internet.
While the idea is quite interesting, these sites can also be overcrowded by offers and it can be difficult to find the ones you want. Still, if you have the time to browse through hundreds of posts, you may find a real gem!
As a side note, you can also try finding sites that only look for coupon codes on a specific niche. For instance, a site like warmadeeasythemovie.org can be extremely useful for parents looking to get their kid a new bed.
Follow Instagram Influencers
A way to reduce the time spent looking for a great deal online is to follow Instagram influencers. Each category has at least two or three very popular influencers that get approached by brands every day.
So, find your favorite influencers who have (or create content for) kids and wait for their promotion campaigns. Influencers usually receive a discount code or a coupon you can copy and use in the shopping cart.
Find the Right Bloggers
Just like influencers, bloggers also get approached by brands to promote their products. Search for blogs dedicated to parents or children and subscribe to their newsletter. This way, when they start a sale or a special campaign, you’ll be among the first to know.
It also helps if you support the blogger’s content. This means you have the same preferences and techniques when it comes to parenting. Furthermore, they may have the same opinion on products, and you’ll get discounts from brands you already love.
The Wish List Trick
The last tool in my quiver is actually a trick I learned a while ago. Most online sites have a wish list section where customers have the possibility to store products they may want to buy in the future. It’s like having a list of favorites that is tailored to your preferences.
Now, if you leave these products there long enough, the site will start sending you notifications and offers for those specific products. You may get vouchers, coupons, or even be notified when there are only a few products left (usually with a much better price).
If this doesn’t work, you can do the same with the shopping cart. Add products but don’t complete the checkout process. In a couple of hours, you’ll receive an email letting you know you forgot to complete the order. By the next day, you should have at least one offer for free shipping or a discount code for one of the products.
